Persian Cat: An Elegant and Loving Breed

Persian Cat: An Elegant and Loving Breed

Persian cats are stunning long-haired cats. That being said, according to the Cat Fanciers Association (CFA), the Persian cat breed was ranked as the 2nd most popular breed in the United States in 2015. The first most popular breed is the exotic. The exotic breed looks like a short-haired Persian. As a result, I think these people really love Persians as well.

NOTE: The exotic breed was created by crossing the domestic shorthair with the Persian. So eventually domestic shorthairs became exotic because of the Persian in them. (So I suspect the lower maintenance of the shorthair may have some effect there... Also, prior to the creation of the exotic shorthair, domestic shorthairs were not allowed to enter cat shows.)

The Persian cat has a distinctive appearance: a large, round head; large, round eyes; short nose; full cheeks; and small ears with rounded tips. The head is supported by a short, thick neck and a seemingly robust, muscular body. The Persian cat's legs are short, strong and powerful with large, round, firm paws. The tail is fluffy and proportional to the length of the cat's body.
Appearance
Persian cats can have different "looks". The selective breeding process carried out by breeders allowed the development of a wide range of coat colors. This also led to the creation of more and more flat permanent (or Peke-faced) Persians. This head structure, popular with many cat lovers, can bring with it a number of health problems. There have been efforts by some breeders to preserve an older type of cat, a traditional breed with a more prominent muzzle, which is more popular with the general public. These are called "Doll-face" Persians.

"Doll" Persians are said to have a more old-fashioned appearance, with a face that is not as flat as a show Persian or Peke Persian.
Environment
Dignified and docile, the Persian is known for being quiet and sweet. She is an ornament to every home, where she can enjoy sitting on the lap - certainly her rightful place - being petted by those discerning enough to recognize her excellent qualities, and playing house with kind children who will gently comb her and go round. around in a cart, wagon or buggy and then serve her tea at their parties. Persians are loving but discerning. They reserve their attention for family members and the few guests they can trust.

Persian cats and cats are calm and prefer a quiet home where little changes from day to day. In addition, they are more satisfied when they are not in a noisy environment.

Using their large, expressive eyes and a voice that can be described as soft, pleasant and musical, Persian cats express their simple needs: regular food, a bit of play with a cat mouse or a crack in a feather, and lots of love that they have. return tenfold.

Because Persian cats have short legs, they are less likely to climb excessive heights, but they will try harder as kittens than as adults. Getting them their own furniture and toys is helpful for them. When you are at work or busy around the house, the Persian will be content to decorate a chair, sofa or bed until you can admire her and give her the attention she readily accepts but never demands.

Care and care

The most important thing to understand when caring for a Persian cat is the need for daily grooming. That long, beautiful coat won't stay clean and tangle-free on its own. They need to be gently but thoroughly combed and brushed every day, and regular bathing – at least once a month – is a good idea. Trimming your nails regularly is also easy.

Litter boxes must also be scrupulously clean. A Persian cat often supervises this activity and immediately checks your work after cleaning the box. They can come when you are cleaning the box and watching. When you're done, they can walk in, sniff around, look at you as if to say they approve, and then leave. So make sure you do a good job - preferably daily.

Persian kittens and Persian cats are not meant to live outdoors. They are exclusive domestic cats.

Excessive tearing can be a problem with this breed. A simple solution is to wipe the corners of the eyes every day. This will prevent the formation of spots under the eyes.

All Persian kittens for sale in our cattery are indoor Persian cats only.

Be sure that they will bring you a lot of joy and love, climbing on your lap or snuggling in the crook of your arm - just to be close to you.
